If you answer yes to one or more of the following questions, tutoring is unlikely to be suitable for the student. However, if you still feel tutoring may be helpful, contact me to see if a trial period may work for your situation.
Is the student under the age of 7?
Does the student have a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or are they suspected of being on the spectrum?
Does the student have a diagnosis of DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) or of an expressive/receptive language disorder?
Is the student from an EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) background?
Can the student already read accurately and rapidly, and spell well, but only has trouble with comprehension?
If you answer yes to 3 or more of the questions below, tutoring may be suitable for the student. Contact me to arrange a trial period.
Is the student aged 7 or older?
Is the student reading significantly below age level?
Does the student have difficulty with reading accurately and fluently?
Does the student have difficulty with spelling accurately and fluently?
Does/did the student have difficulty learning letter names and sounds?
Does the student have difficulty sounding out words or reading longer words?
